You have the option to send your weekly sales data to BookScan.
If you choose to send BookScan your sales data, the first thing you will need to do is contact BookScan to acquire the information you need and come to an understanding of what will be required of you.
After that, you will send BookScan your sales data on a weekly basis.
To access the BookScan in iMerchant
Go To:
Interfaces > Neilson Book Scan.
You will need to set up your BookScan parameters for each store in your chain from which you want to report sales data to BookScan.
Select a store to establish the BookScan parameters the Nielson BookScan window appears.
The Week Ending field always defaults to the previous week (seven days ago).
Generally, you will run the BookScan report every week, on a particular day decided by BookScan.
If you need to change the date in this field, either key in the new date or click on the arrow at the right of the field and select the desired date.
The information for all of the remaining fields will be provided to you by BookScan.
You should only need to fill these fields in once for each store in your chain that will be reporting to BookScan.
To send your sales date to BookScan:
- Click on the Send Report button at the lower left of the BookScan window.
- A message box appears telling you either that the report has been sent, or that a problem occurred and that it was not sent.
Send the BookScan report for each applicable store in your multi-store chain.
Remember to stick with the weekly schedule provided by BookScan.
The information provided by Nielsen BookScan below is flawed in that the address: sftp://retail.vnureig.com/ is incorrect for iMerchant.
