There are two basic methods of opening the Point Of Sale module in iMerchant.

Whichever way you go about it, POS is a separate window from the main iMerchant program.

Therefore, you could be working in the main iMerchant window as well as running POS, simultaneously, from the same PC.

Each will have its own separate task bar visible in the status line at the bottom of your PC.

You can launch POS from Nav Bar.

• Click on the POS button  
• This will open the POS module.
  • The system will assume the main iMerchant user (the person already logged in to iMerchant) is the same user launching POS, so no sign-in will be necessary.
    • If POS was already running on this PC, opening it this way will access the already-opened session
    • It will not be opened twice.

If, for some reason, you prefer not to use the toolbar icon,

POS can also be launched as from the Menu Bar:

• Select Modules > Point of Sale > Cash Register.

You can also launch POS from the windows start menu on the lower left corner of your PC.

• Select Start > All Programs > Computac Inc > [i] Merchant > Point Of Sale.
• The standard sign-in (with password) prompt will appear.
• Key in your user name and password, and POS will be launched.

You can, of course, place the POS application onto your desktop as a shortcut, for convenience.

Launching from the Start menu allows you to run POS on a PC even if the main iMerchant application is not open.
