Inventory By Store - LSI Export to Indie Commerce

Updated on

If you do not have FTP information to your website, contact your local Indie Commerce rep ([email protected]) and ask to email you FTP information to send your LSI file to your website.

  • Create custom export files for ABA website data or setup authentication to automatically import web orders into imerchant.  First setup any of the three types of export files including Inventory by Store, Custom Products or Store Books.  Each export type can be used to export new book titles or custom products like clothes, food and more.
  • Schedule inventory by store to FTP ABA with your export file from IM every day.
  • Store books and custom products will need to be manually imported into your ABA system, as they do not allow these types of files to be automatically imported.

New Export Setup (Pick Type of Indie Export)

  • TYPE:
    - Inventory By Store
    - Store Books
    - Custom Products
    - WordPress Website - WooCommerce
    - Products On Sale

Each type performs similar but unique tasks. Store Books and Custom Products currently do the same tasks so selecting either for non-book product would be fine.

Tasks for Each Type Include

  • Inventory By Store

- Exports a single file with only the columns ISBN, Price, Quantity, Location each type with the heading.
- Each time the file is created, it will create a full of matching records in your query.

- Use the Settings tab to setup a query, ftp settings, base folder, file prefix, outlet ID and other ABA settings to customize your export file for each type of product.  The mapping section can be ignored, since the LSI file always just includes the same 4 columns.

- The file will be named
STOCK/INVENTORY FILENAME PREFIX_TIMESTAMP_OUTLETID.txt

NOTES ABOUT LSI INVENTORY BY STORE FILE:

- A new file should be uploaded at least daily and no more than every 2 hours. If new files are not uploaded at least weekly, the inventory information on your site will be voided. Uploaded files are processed within the hour.

- If an item has 0 quantity, your site will display the uploaded price (and location, if provided) and the availability status as per Ingram's data. Such titles will still be considered as 'in stock' by search. For best search relevance, please do not include books that are actually not on hand in the LSI file.

Store Books & Custom Products

Using the Indie Commerce Properties you can create files for importing into your Indie Commerce website for adding / updating Custom Products and Used Book products.

Additional Details:

- On Hand / Available For Sale Values for these items will be included in your main LSI files, not these files.
- Product ID# will either be a Product Number or the SKU number depending on if the product number meets a certain criteria. Used Book export will always use the SKU to always a unique ID vs the new book.
- The list of products is sorted by Product Number, if we find an identical product number as the next row in the file we will skip the next line as to not create duplicate product rows in your file.
- Column heading names and data for each column is wrapped in quotes for formatting.
- Generally you can create 1 file for each custom product category, then 1 file for your used books.
- Both types of files need to be uploaded manually to your Indie Commerce Web Admin Panel.
