You can accept a deposit or prepayment for a customer order.
Once configured a customer order can be selected from within the POS and a deposit applied to that order.
Setup
A balance card tender must be created for the customer order deposit.
It is recommended to create a balance card tender specifically for this purpose.
Add a new balance card tender for deposits.
On the Service tab of Tender properties:
- Check the “Issue as Tender Service” box.
- This will create a service that will be used at POS for the deposit.
- Fill in the Service Properties.

Within System Options the Customer Order Deposits feature must be enabled and the Service assigned.
- Select Tools > Options
- Click on the the Customer Orders tab.
- Check the Enable order Deposit box.
- This will allow a service to be entered.
- Find the service created for the customer order deposit.
- Enter a default percentage for the suggested deposit.
- Save the changes and Deposits will be enabled.
Taking a deposit at POS
- Click on the Find Menu button

- Select the Find Customer Order option from within POS.

- Search for a Customer order.
- If an order does not exist, use the New button to add a customer order.
- Once completed exit to return the customer order finder.
- Highlight the order needing a deposit.
- Only Open orders will accept a deposit.
- Click the Deposit/Prepayment button in the toolbar.
- This will present the deposit screen. As seen below.

- Enter the deposit amount or percentage.
- iMerchant will calculate the deposit or percentage once one is entered.
- Click the Add Deposit to POS button.
- The deposit amount will be added to the sale.
- Add any other POS items or additional deposits to the sale.
- Complete the sale.
- When the sale is completed, POS will create a balance card for the deposit and apply that balance card to the Tenders in the customer order.
