Set Up
You will first need to set up an account with Twilio and enable texting within iMerchant.

Otherwise, this article will walk you through all of the new places Texting will appear in the system
Manual Texting from iMerchant
Using the Send Text Message button:
Anywhere you see the Task Bar button Send Text Message you can manually send a text.

You can either text all customers in the results field, or you can select a group of customers from the results field to text.
When you click on the Send Text Message button you see a Text window pop up.

In the Choose Selection Criteria section, you choose to either send a Text to:
All Items: all results in the finder grid
Selected Items Only: texts only the results that have been selected
Enter the message you want to send your customer group
Click on the Send button and your text has been sent
Using Interfaces > Twilio:
You can also send Texts by going to Interfaces > Twilio on the Menu Bar

This option allows you to quickly text a Customer, Customer List, Customer Query, or Phone Number
When you click on one of the options it will pop up a new Text window.
Use the binoculars to find the recipient or recipients of the text.
Enter the text and click on the Send button.
Customer Properties
Texting will use the number entered in the Mobile/Other field on the Customer Record within the Address Tab

New Customer field
With the addition of Texting to the system, there is a new field you can add to the Customer screen in the designer.
From the Palette, drag and drop Customer Contact Method where ever you would like it on the Customer screen.
This new field provides a drop down which will allow you to mark the customer as preferring to receive a text notification.
- You can also select Any, Never Contact, or Email Only
New Customer Order
.When creating a new customer order within the Header tab the Text Message option has been added under Preferred Notification Method.
Customer Notifications
Within Customer Order Notification
Modules > Customer Orders > Customer Order Notification
When you click on any three of the notification category buttons you will see the following screen

Here you can select Preferred Notification Method = Text Message,
When you click on the Submit the Query button at the bottom, you can see all of your customers who would prefer to see a Text message
From there you will be brought back into Notification Manager screen
Here you can set the Notification Delivery Method = Text Message
You will also set the Notification message to deliver here by clicking on the binoculars and selecting the pertinent notification.

Click on the Create Notices button
The Confirm Customer Order Notifications Specifications window will pop up
- here you can add a more personalized note as well as log notes about the notification
Click on the Yes button and your text notification is sent
Your text will look something like:

Tools > Parameters > Customer Notification
By going to Tools > Parameters > Customer Notification you can create a specific Notification message for Texts

Click on the New button in the Task Bar
Fill in the Code, Description, and Text to Print Before information about the order
Click on the Close button, you will be prompted to save, Select Yes
You now have a new Notification that will go out to customers when you select the new code.
