System Requirements

iMRCHNT is a Microsoft product that runs on a Microsoft SQL database.

iMRCHNT Workstation & POS Hardware Requirements

Minimum Specifications (for all Workstations/POS stations):

  • Windows 11 Pro
  • Recommend a high-end processor
  • 16 GB RAM
  • 256 GB SSD (Solid State Drive)
  • 23-inch Monitor or larger
  • Wireless Keyboard and Mouse
  • Epson T88 Receipt Printer (USB only; required for POS)
  • APG Cash Drawer (required for POS)
  • Barcode Scanner (required for POS)

 

 System Configuration by iMRCHNT

  • PC Naming Convention:
    Each PC will be renamed using the format: GBSXX
    (e.g., GBS06)
  • User Accounts Setup:
    • An Administrator user will be created with a secure password.
    • A generic "store" user will be configured for standard usage and linked to iMRCHNT.
  • Terminal Description:
    Each terminal will be labeled using the format:
    GBSXX POSXX [Location or Username]
    (e.g., GBS06 POS06 Troy)

 

 Networking & Connectivity

  • Static IPs Required:
    All hardware must have a manually configured static IP address.
    (DHCP-assigned static IPs are not acceptable.)
  • Wired vs. Wireless:
    • Workstations, system/report printers, and label printers must use wired network connections.
    • Laptops may use secured Wi-Fi within the store.

 

 Peripheral Device Requirements

  • USB Printers:
    Only the Epson T88 Receipt Printer may be connected via USB.
  • System/Report Printers & Label Printers:
    Must be network-accessible (wired Ethernet connection required).
  • Remove unnecessary printers (OneNote, Fax, XPS) to avoid conflicts.
  • Verify “Let Windows manage my default printer” is unchecked.

 

PC Setup & Remote Configuration Policy

Once the PC is set up and accessible to Computac:

  • Remote Installation:
    • You will receive a link to install ScreenConnect (ConnectWise).
    • After installation, Computac will:
      • Remotely connect to the PC
      • Download all necessary programs
      • Complete installation and configuration of the iMRCHNT system

 

 Configuration Fee Structure

Provided by another vendor       $150/hour (minimum 1 hour charge)

 

IMRCHNT recommends that automatic Windows updates be turned off. Turning off automatic updates prevents unexpected system changes that could disrupt business operations, ensuring greater stability for critical applications. Windows updates should only be checked and installed with local IT directions.

IMRCHNT also recommends that on each PC a Windows Restore Point be scheduled to occur weekly (suggest Sundays). Regular restore points provide a reliable way to recover from potential issues, allowing the system to revert to a stable state if a problem arises.

IMRCHNT will provide hardware, software, configuration, and support for PC’s purchased from Computac/iMRCHNT.

For PC’s provided by another vendor, iMRCHNT will charge $150/hour with a minimum charge of 1 hour and IMRCHNT will provide required software, configuration and support for the connectivity and operation of the PCs with the iMRCHNT system.

Local Networks, switches, firewalls are the responsibility of the store and the stores local IT group. All contact with the stores IT group must be initiated by the store.

Establishing static IP addresses for PC’s, printers, and card readers is the responsibility of the local IT Group.

 Responsibility Split

  • iMRCHNT provides hardware, software, configuration, and support for PCs purchased through Computac/iMRCHNT.
  • For third-party PCs, iMRCHNT provides configuration and support at $150/hour (1-hour minimum).
  • Local IT is responsible for managing networks, switches, and firewalls. Communication with IT groups must be initiated by the store.
  • Local IT must also establish static IP addresses for all PCs, printers, and card readers.
  • Wherever possible, all network devices should reside within the same subnet. In multi-store environments, separate subnets may be used provided that routing or bridging ensures full connectivity between iMRCHNT devices and peripherals.”

     For the best experience, use the latest version of any operating system specified above.


     

  • CPU: Intel or AMD processor with 64-bit support;  Recommended: 2.8 GHz or faster processor
  • GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 1050 or equivalent;  Recommended: nVidia GeForce GTX 1660 or Quadro T1000
  • Disk Storage: 4 GB of free disk space
  • Monitor Resolution: 1280x800;  Recommended: 1920x1080
  • Internet: Internet connection required for software activation

     
  • .NET version

    Windows: Some features may require .NET 3.5 or 4.6 and higher to also be installed.
