POS Enhancements: Coupons and Customer Order

The POS screen now makes it easier to manage customer discounts and orders. The Coupon button shows how many coupons are available for the selected customer and the balance that can be applied to the sale. Clicking the button displays the available coupons, allowing you to select one or multiple coupons according to the sale rules. Selected coupons are applied automatically, with balances updated in real time.

The Customer Order button provides quick access to all open orders for the selected customer. You can easily bring an order into the current sale to continue or complete it, streamlining the checkout process.

These enhancements help cashiers and sales associates apply discounts and manage customer orders more efficiently, directly from the POS screen.

Coupons and Store Bucks Rewards

A new option is available when setting up coupons, allowing multiple coupons to be created for a single sale. This feature makes it easy to issue Store Bucks rewards to customers, whether for promotions, loyalty programs, or special offers.

Cashiers and sales associates can select and apply multiple coupons during the transaction, ensuring customers receive their rewards quickly and accurately. By providing flexible coupon options, this enhancement helps improve the customer experience and encourages repeat visits.

Coupon Update: Better Support for Mixed Carts

We’ve improved how coupons work when your cart includes both products and services.

Previously, coupons that were limited to products only or services only could not be used if your cart contained a mix of both. That restriction has been removed.

What’s Changed?

Coupons are now evaluated based on which type of item makes up the larger portion of your cart:

  • Product-only coupons can be used when the total value of products in your cart is greater than or equal to the total value of services.
  • Service-only coupons can be used when the total value of services is greater than or equal to the total value of products.
  • All Items coupons continue to work on any eligible cart without restriction.

Clearer Error Messages

If a coupon can’t be applied, you’ll now see a detailed message explaining why. The message will include:

  • A breakdown of your product and service totals
  • A clear explanation of why the coupon isn’t valid
  • Guidance on how to adjust your cart to qualify

These updates make it easier to understand how your coupon works and how to successfully apply it at checkout.
 

Keep Your Product Data Up to Date

We’ve enhanced the Product Properties screen with a new option that makes it easier to stay aligned with the latest vendor information.
With this update:

  • You’ll be notified when a product’s retail price differs from the vendor’s latest price and can choose to update it instantly.
  • The system automatically checks the product’s publication date against the vendor’s data and updates it when needed.

This improvement helps keep your pricing and product details accurate, consistent, and current—saving time and reducing manual updates.
 
Requirements

  • Stock Check must be enabled under Tools > Options > Account Information for this feature to function.

Validate Retail & Promise Pricing During Order Allocation

You can now validate and update both Retail Price and Promise Price directly from the Customer Order Allocation screen when differences are detected against the vendor’s latest retail price.

To use this feature, Stock Check must be enabled under Tools > Options > Account Information.

With this enhancement:

  • You’ll be prompted to update the retail price when a discrepancy is found.
  • The on-screen price updates immediately after confirmation.
  • If the Promise Price differs, you’ll also be prompted to update it.
  • Any approved updates are reflected instantly on screen.

This improvement keeps all customer-facing pricing accurate at the time orders are allocated, helping prevent downstream pricing issues and saving time.

Pub Easy Inventory Levels added to Product Properties and Venstock Inventory

Image, Review, and Inventory System Improvements

We've enhanced the reliability and stability of our product image and review retrieval system. The updated architecture validates requests earlier to avoid unnecessary processing and implements proper resource cleanup to prevent memory leaks that could cause gradual performance degradation over time.

In addition, integration with the Bookazine API for inventory and the Ingram Warehouse Inventory API ensures real-time inventory data is retrieved accurately and efficiently. This allows your system to provide up-to-date stock information alongside images and reviews, even during periods of high-volume usage.

While individual requests will see modest improvements, the real benefit comes from maintaining consistent performance across all data retrieval operations. Your system will run more reliably throughout the day, with improved error handling and easier troubleshooting whenever issues arise.
