POS
Two tender function were added to the POS list of tenders for partial payment on credit or debit cards.
Credit Card Partial $
Debit Card Partial $
The EMV reader devices require the amount to be confirmed by the user. [i]merchant assumes the remaining sale total is the correct amount and begins the transaction on the reader device. This is done to avoid extra steps for the most common transaction. If the customer does not want the entire remaining amount to be placed on the credit or debit card, the new “partial” tender option should be used. The “partial” option will prompt for a new amount that must be the same or less than the remaining sale amount. Once the amount is accepted, processing continues normally.

POS
When using the CPro Flagship system, a call is being made to the CPro server on POS startup to start the CPro server.
This prevents a delay on the first card transition.
Charge It Pro
The following change only apply to the PCs or terminal servers that support the Charge It Pro Flagship devices. PCs not associated with a Charge it Pro Flagship device will not have the Charge it Pro server software installed, and do not need to be checked or updated.
Code was added to validate the Flagship server DLL used by [i]merchant matches the one in use by the CPro server.
-
Version checks occur in two locations.
Automatically when POS starts.
-
Manually via the Database utilities.
Tools, Administration, Database Utilities.
-
When a newer version of the CPro DLL is found, [i]merchant will attempt to update the DLL used by [i]merchant with the CPro .
A success or fail message will be displayed.
A failed update will not stop POS. POS will simply use the exiting dll.
-
Handling a failed update:
Failures are most likely permission related.
Launch [i]merchant with administrative rights. This can be done using the connection manager, or using the “Run as Administrator” option of windows.
Use the database utilities menu to check and update the CPro DLL.
