Café Industries

  • Two new industries have been added, Café Item and Café Option.

    • Café Options are alterations or modifications to the café item being sold.

  • The industries must be enabled before they can be used. To enable the industries select Tools, Option and check the industry that should be enabled.

Using and Associating Café items and Café options

Some café item products might need to be “built” or tailored for the specific order. This is done using the café option industry.

Café option products are associated with one or more Café item product via the Product Type field. When a Café item is added at POS, [i]merchant checks to see if there are any café options with the same product type. If there are café options the café option menu will appear so the cashier can select the various options. When the item is complete exit the café option menu or scan a new product.

For example when ordering a bagel there may be choices such as toasted, buttered, cream cheese, or some sort of meat. Each of these items is considered a Café Option that is associated with the café item. Some of the items may have a cost, others will not.

When a Café item does not have any Café options it is simply added to the sale.
