Updated on

The most recent (May 2018) Windows Update is affecting RDP Access

Last week (4/14/18) Microsoft released an update for Windows 10

The recent release has affected our ability to RDP into our customer's systems in order to provide support.

We get the following error when trying to RDP in.

If you are running Windows 10, would you please do the following for us?

Go To: Control Panel (View By = Small Icons) > System

You will see the following screen

Click on the Remote Settings shield

This will bring up the System Properties window

Depending on what version of Windows you are running you will either Check the "Allow remote connections to this computer" or Uncheck the "Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication"

Click on the Apply button and you're all set.

***Notice*** You will want to enable this when you are seeking iMerchant support or allowing others to RDP into the device. If you don't want anyone accessing the device, then check the Don't allow remote connections to this computer option.

Low Connection Settings

Go to the Edit portion of each RDP icon.
