Datacap Setup Notes
Needed:
Devices attached to network
IP address for each reader
TranCloud Device ID
Merchant ID from bank
Terminal ID from bank if supplied
Hardware Device Setup
The DataCap TranCloud Setup guide can be found at https://www.datacapsystems.com/set-up
Follow instructions for the TransCloud device setup and program for each of the Pin Pad devices.
Add each of the Readers to [i]merchant:
- Select Tools > Parameters > DataCap device
- Add an entry for each of the readers.
- Enter Merchant
- Enter a Terminal ID. If one was assigned by the bank use it, otherwise create a unique ID for each device. Suggest 001, 002 etc.
- Enter IP address of the Pin Pad
- Enter the port for the Pin Pad
- Test mode should be unchecked.
- UPL will default and should not be changed.
- Choose the cash back behavior desired.
- Save the device.
- Click on Parameter Download to send the settings to the reader.
Add Tenders for DataCap cards:
- Select Tools > Parameters > Tenders
- Add a tender for the datacap cards.
- It is recommended to create new tenders for the datacap tenders. This keeps the historical tender transactions intact.
- Any token transactions from a previous processor must remain as is so they can be authorized using the old processor and token.
Associate the Datacap device to the register:
Select Tools > Administration > PC Settings.
Find the PC being configured.
Enter the DataCap device that will be used with the PC.
Check the Use box to enable the device.
Uncheck the old device if or when it is no longer needed.
Save the settings.
Test transactions:
- Restart POS so it finds the new devices and tenders.
- Test a sale using the DataCap PinPad.
